In 1998, Pastor Royce Dale Wilson was led by the Holy Spirit to step out on faith and plant a ministry of believers. He was gifted with love, truth, and prophecy. On the first day of the meeting, The Great I Am Temple received 78 new members to the congregation. The ministry had begun with the vision and foundation laid from Exodus 3:14: And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Pastor Wilson believed that nothing was too hard for God. His desire was to raise a people of God who would learn to love as Jesus loved and those who would walk in the power and authority of the Holy Ghost. He believed that all people had an opportunity to change. The Lord called Pastor Wilson home after an time of illness. However, the ministry continued with his wife, Evangelist Ruby Jean Daniels Wilson, as the pastor.

During her administration, the church grew in love. She believed what her husband believed and she displayed wisdom, courage, love and understanding. She nurtured the body of the believers with tender love and care. She believed everyone who had a gift from God and she opened the doors for the members to be free to exercise their gifts. Unfortunately, Pastor Ruby Wilson also became ill. The Lord also claimed her soul and allowed her to take her rest with him.

On Sunday, August 13, 2017, Minister Jerome and Evangelist Clarissa Pace were elected by the Great I Am Temple members to serve as their pastors. Neither of them are new to ministry. They have served in ministry for over 20 years. Both of them were ordained under Pastor Royce Dale Wilson in 1996 and 1994, respectively. Pastor Jerome Pace continued with The Great I Am Temple, serving in various positions, including staff minister. Evangelist Pace went on to become a licensed and ordained evangelist missionary with the Church of God in Christ, Inc., 3rd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Arkansas, under the leadership of the late Bishop R.E. Matheney and now, prelate, Bishop Joe B. Mason. She served 18 years in ministry at Revival Center Church of God in Christ in Monticello under the leadership of Bishop Michael and Lady Tira Jones.

During their tenure, they have moved they have expanded the ministry and relocated from 311 S. Main Street to 107 W. Gaines Street in Monticello, AR. Their mission and vision is clearly conveyed through the word of God that they preach. They humbly continue to serve the body of the Great I Am Temple Ministries.
